Michael "Mike" Layne Mcnabb

Michael (Mike) Layne McNabb, 68, of Decatur, TN., went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 30, 2024.

Mike was preceded in death by his father Martin L. McNabb. Mother Nora Claire McNabb Fritts. Sister Therese McNabb. Niece Elizabeth Hunter.

Mike is survived by his wife Dorothy Toomey McNabb. His loving sisters Karen McNabb and Frances (Larry) Godair. Brother Matt (Tiffany) McNabb. Stepmother Cheryl McNabb. Niece Mallory (Greg) Smith. Nephew Jim Gardner. Great nieces and nephews, Noah McNabb, Hailey Nichols, Nora Nichols, Grayson Smith, Austin Smith, Hunter McNabb, and Payton McNabb. Aunt Betty Davis. Uncle Jim McNabb. Several beloved cousins.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2024, in the Beta Cemetery (8956 State Hwy 58 S, Decatur, TN.) with the Rev. David Moore officiating and Scott Shaver delivering the eulogy. Pallbearers will include Jim Gardner, Noah McNabb, Scott Shaver, Jackson Shaver, Larry Moser and Justin Goss. Music and songs by Jackie Harling, Noah McNabb, Hailey Nichols, and the Goss Children.

The McNabb family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga for their tremendous help during Mike's journey. In particular, Brittany Riedel, Chairitie Dotson, and Amber Stiner.

Mike’s life work was spent in the service of animals. Rescuing horses, dogs, cats etc. He had worked over the years with Loraine Munker at One More Last Chance Rescue.
