William "Mark" Hayes

William Mark Hayes, age 61, lifelong resident of Decatur, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2026.

He was the beloved son of the late Billy Dean Hayes and Patsy Creasman Hayes. Mark dedicated his life to his career as a lineman, contributing significantly to the electric industry and showcasing a strong work ethic that inspired those around him.

He is survived by his sons, Tommy (Ivey) Hayes, Andy (Lauren) Hayes; grandchildren, Pierce and Fletcher Hayes, Kash Hayes; sister, Dr. Deana Ann Hayes; other extended family and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 28, 2026, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services. A short memorial service will follow at 6 p.m., officiated by Rev. Dale Kennedy.
