William Lee Franklin

William "Bill" Lee Franklin, 62, of Decatur, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015. He was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church and attended Bethsadia Baptist Church. He was a long time Sunday School teacher. Bill was a member of the Charleston Masonic Lodge #484. He served as a police officer in Charleston for several years, he retired from Olin Corp and drove a truck for Solomon after retirement. His life was his testimony. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Arthur and Rosa Lee Wells Franklin; step daughter, Caitlyn Hackney. He is survived by his wife Tammy Blevens Franklin, of Decatur; sons, Shawn Franklin, of Charleston and PJ Hackey, of Decatur; daughter, Tonya Davenport, of Charleston; brother, Ray and his wife Sandie Franklin, of NC; sister, Pam and her husband Ronnie Moore, of Canton, NC; grandson, Dylan Davenport; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mike and Cheryl Ricker, Jere Judd, Amy and Steve Graham, and Brad and Grace Blevens, all of Decatur; many nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Thursday, Nov. 12 at the funeral home. The funeral will be held in the chapel at 7 pm Thursday with the ministers Stan Cantrell, Roger Moore and Brad Blevens officiating.
