William Franklin Carter

November 27, 1929 — November 26, 2014

William Franklin Carter, 85, of Ten Mile, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014 at his residence. Franklin was a life long resident of Ten Mile. A member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Served as Trustee for 54 years and led the choir for many of his years. He was a hard working self-employed truck driver and equipment operator. A loving husband, father and grandfather. He was the son of W.D. "Dot" and Ruby Hope Carter. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Lucy Jiles Carter, of Ten Mile; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Patsy Carter, of Ten Mile; daughters, Marcella "Sally" Carter and Chery Ann Miller, of Ten Mile; Grandchildren, Chris Carter, Grant Carter, Lacey Rynes Rowland and husband Darren, Kyla Miller, Chanel Miller Finnell and husband Justin; Great grandchildren, Faith Bidwell, Carter and Chase Rowland; Great-great grandchild, Bryson Godsey; and a host of good friends. Funeral service will be held at 7:30 pm, Friday, Nov. 28, 2014 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Walker and Rev. Rick Duncan officiating. Interment will be at 11 am, Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014 in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 until 7:30 pm, Friday, Nov. 28, 2014 at the Church. Pallbearers: Sam Inman, Tim Cooper, Jason Roberts, Chuckie Ellison, Sam McElhaney, Craig Helms. Honorary Pallbearers: Bobby Reed, Ottis Moore, Carey Bishop, Trendall Walden, Bobby Nelson.
