William R. Allen

William R."Billy" Allen, age 51 of Athens, TN died on Monday May 10, 2010 as a result of an automobile accident. Bill graduated from Meigs County High School and served in the U.S. Navy and was certified in plumbing. Most of his work career was in construction in and around Athens, TN He is survived by his adoptive parents, Ronald and Letha Allen of Athens, Sister, Mitzi Allen Hurst a native of Athens and now residing in Trenton, Georgia Nieces and nephews, Wesley Hurst, Laura Hurst and Dakota Hurst Great nieces and nephews, Ethan, Ashlyn and Logan Hurst all of Trenton, Georgia. Special friends Velt Harris and Neda Sewell of Decatur, TN The family will receive friends on Thursday May 13, 2010 from 4-6 p.m. at the Allen Memorial United Methodist Church. Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. at the Allen Memorial United Methodist Church in Athens with Rev. Ogle Wattenbarger officiating. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society.
