Wayne Allen Mitzel

Wayne Allen Mitzel, 67, od Decatur passed away suddenly Saturday June 1, 2019 at Sweetwater Hospital. He was born Aug. 11, 1951 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Albert Mitzel and the late Leanor Wolfe Mitzel. He was self employed as a plumber and carpenter. He enjoyed fishing, golf, Atlanta Braves baseball and his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter Hope Bowers.

Survivors include his wife Georganna Mitzel; 1 son Nathan and Cindy Bowers; 2 daughters Happy Jo and Nathan Arrowood, Heather and Ed Flores; sister Bonnie Mitzel-Jackson; 15 grandchildren, Andrew Bowers, Gabby Bowers, Justice Baker, Kaylee Kirkland, Damien Kirkland, Bryon Kirkland, Hunter Bowers, Bradon Garren, Brittany Garren, Trevor Bowers, Courtney Arrowood, Nickole Arrowood, Emberlynn Arrowood, Corin Pike, Derey Flores.

The family will receive friends at Bowers Funeral Home on Friday June 7, 2019 from 1-4 pm. Funeral services will follow at 4 PM Friday with Pastor Bill Pearman officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Memorial Gardens Friday after the service.
