Wayne Godsey

Wayne "Camel" Godsey, 80, of Decatur, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2015. Wayne was born in Spring City to the late Joseph and Sally Cox Godsey, where he resided until 6 years ago. He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church and was a lifetime member of the Wolf Creek Fire Dept. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Bernice Godsey; son, Joey Dwayne Godsey; and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include 5 sons, Tim (Ginger) Godsey, of Chickamauga, Ga, Charlie (Jessica) Godsey, of Decatur, Shaun Godsey (Joann McConkey), of Decatur, Adam (Mary Beth) Godsey, of Rockwood, Bryan Godsey (Angela Lothery), of Decatur; 2 daughters, Virginia (Michael) Robinson, of Decatur, Annette (Joe) Durham , of Spring City; 2 special daughters, Jessica Long, of Dayton and Kim Killian, of Decatur; 2 brothers, twin Blaine (Rose) Godsey and Frank (Janie) Godsey, all of Spring City; sister, Evelena Isham, of Rockwood; 17 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The funeral is scheduled for 8 pm Saturday in the Chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Andrews officiating. Interment will be in the Hughes Cemetery, Pikeville, TN 12 pm eastern time Sunday . The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the funeral home to help cover final expenses.
