Wanda Faye "Shorty" Judd

Wanda Faye “Shorty” Combs Judd, age 81, of Decatur, passed away on Wednesday October 16, 2024.

She was a daughter of the late Bill and Stella Rowland Combs. She enjoyed all things gardening, mowing, planting flowers, canning, cooking, fishing, hunting, and always put her family first. She was the owner of the Nip & Sip for 40 years and loved her customers.

She is preceded in death by her siblings: Cricket Myers, Wayne Combs, Wilma Powers, Joey Clay, Willard “Buster” Combs, Bernice Whatley; grandchildren: Sherry Judd, Misty Whitener; son-in-law: Herbert Whitener.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years: Stanley Judd; children: Faye (Bill) Jarvis, Diane Whitener, Gene (Joyce) Judd, Donna (Steve) Scott, Leon (Angie) Judd; siblings: Kay Fish, Wendy Combs, grandchildren: Dusty Whitener, Stan Judd, Jennie Judd, Heather Rogers, Zac Cofer, Jeff Judd Jr., John Judd, Laura McNabb, Cody Judd; close friend: Mike Fulmer, Jeff Charles, several great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other extended family, a host of friends, and fur babies.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m., on Monday, October 21, 2024, in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Rev. James Staton officiating.

Interment will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, in the Beta Cemetery with Jeff Judd, Zac Cofer, Cody Judd, John Judd, Dusty Whitener, and Stan Judd serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Spanky Colbaugh, Jeff Charles, and Red Davis.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, prior to the service.
