Virginia Lee Crowder

Virginia Lee Crowder, age 79, a resident of Decatur, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at a local nursing facility.

She was the daughter of the late Archie Lee and Ruth Virginia Monday. She was a long-time member of Pisgah Baptist Church where she served as the church pianist. She was retired from La-Z-Boy, Inc. with 37 years of service. Virginia enjoyed her church activities and watching her grandchildren play sports.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Lloyd Crowder, a son: James Guinn, and her brother: Wayne Patrick Monday.

She is survived by her son: Jeff (Kim) Crowder of Decatur, sister: Shirley (Robert) Howard of Decatur, a brother: Chester Raymond Monday of Dayton, grandchildren: Alyson, Emily, Anna, and Ella Crowder, great-grandchildren: Elora Crowder and Logan Richeson, several nieces, nephews, other extended family, and a host of friends.

Per Virginia’s wishes, a private memorial service will be held later.

There will be no formal visitation.
