Vanessa Chrisman Darity

Vanessa Chrisman Darity, age 65, passed away on April 10, 2025, in Athens, Georgia.

She was born on May 29, 1959, in Athens, Tennessee to the late James Edwin Chrisman and Betty Ross Letner.

Vanessa was a kind and gentle soul who lived a life full of love, laughter, and loyalty. She loved her family fiercely and was always there for those she cared about, ready with a helping hand, an encouraging word, or one of her signature warm smiles. Her presence was comforting, her laughter contagious, and her unwavering support made her the biggest fan and cheerleader for those lucky enough to know her.

She was a proud Tennessee Vols fan and loved watching NASCAR. But above all else, she adored her grandchildren. Being their grandmother brought her tremendous joy, and she took immense pride in the family she loved so deeply.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ross and Stella Miller.

She is survived by her loving husband, Randy Darity; her children, Jamie Ball, Jeremy Monroe, and Faith Rosenbaum (Thomas); and her cherished grandchildren, McKinzi, Walker, Paisley, and Jaxon. She also leaves behind her siblings, Pamela Chrisman, Tammy Chrisman, Loretta Letner, Tony Chrisman, and Mark Letner (Kim); along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who held a special place in her heart.

Vanessa will be remembered for her infectious smile, her giving heart, and the love she poured into every moment. Her legacy lives on in the family she treasured and the lives she touched.

A Funeral service to celebrate Vanessa’s life will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Rev. Mike Couch officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carson O'Daniel, Camdyn Thompson, James Andrews, Jeremy Gibson, John Kirk, and Nathan Stiles.

The Family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the service.

In honor of Vanessa and her unwavering love for the Tennessee Vols, the family kindly asks everyone attending her service to wear Tennessee orange or Vols colors.
