Una Mae Denton

Una Mae Denton, age 86, of Decatur, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 6, 2012. Una was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Denton; father Jess Goforth; mother Bertha Crook Goforth; brothers Rule Goforth and Jess "Jr" Goforth; sister Irene Howard. She is survived by her sons, David Skidmore and his wife Pat, Bo Denton and his wife Shirlene, of Decatur; daughters Rebecca "Sue" Snyder and her husband Jack, of Cleveland, Linda Wilson and her husband Wayne, of Decatur; brother Dee Goforth and his wife Ruby, of Riceville; sister Geneva Sewell, of the Buckhorn community; 8 grandchildren, Richie and Kasey Skidmore, Tiffany Harris, Joshua Lee, Tosha Cranfield, Lakeisha Denton, Justin Wilson, Caletha Vaughn; and 11 great-grand children. Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Bowers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Pearman and Rev. Jimmy Lewis officiating. Interment will be at Saturday at Shiloh Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Pallbearers: Richie Skidmore, Kasey Skidmore, Justin Wilson, Joshua Lee, Chris Harris, Blake Cranfield. Honorary Pallbearers: Tyler Skidmore and Brian Passolt.
