Tilda Jane (Womac) Shelton, age 76, born in Ten Mile, Tn. July 18, 1935, went to be with the Lord on Thursday August 4, 2011, in Ridgeville, SC. Our Father has taken his daughter into his arms and taken her home. Tilda Jane was a caring and loving mother. She was married for 53 years to Kenneth David Shelton and they raised two children together. She traveled with Kenneth who was in the Army to each station he was assigned to. She worked as a cashier for over 29 years. Working in the PX Exchange, at Fort Gordon Ga. and at Fort WainWright, Ak. In 1970 she moved back to her home town, while her husband served his country overseas. She had worked at an Answering Service as a phone operator in Athens, Tn. and in Spring City , Tn at the Pajama Factory. Then the family returned to Alaska. Jane had gotten her job back at the PX on Fort WainWright. In 1974 Jane had went to work at the Commissary on Fort WainWright, Ak. where she retired in 1982. Shortly after retiring she had moved back to where she was born, Ten Mile, Tn. Then missing Alaska she moved back in 1986 where she loved, living in Delta Junction. In 1996 she moved to Ridgeville, S.C. where she lived until her calling home. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. She liked working on word search puzzles, sewing, puzzles and shopping. Loved talking on the phone to her family finding out how they all were. A loving and caring person to her family, wanting to see all her children grow to be successful in life. She will join her husband of 53 years Kenneth David Shelton; Parents James Henry and Elsie Anna Mae Walker Womac; Grandparents James S and Chatt Farris Womac, William M and Cora E Lankford Walker; Sister Lorene Diane Womac Thomas; Brothers Ransom A. Womac, Thomas ( Tom) Melton Womac, Troy Leone Womac; In-laws David Andrew and Daisy Marie O'Daniel Shelton, Ruth Shelton Wade, Mary Jo Shelton Richeson. She leaves behind her two children, Son James Calvin and Renee Evans of Goose Creek, S.C., Daughter Anna Marie and Robert Johnson of Ridgeville, S.C.; Grandchildren Rose Tieman, Casey and Kathleen Johnson, Charlotte and Robert Lynch, Kenneth Jacob Shelton, James Evans, Johnny Johnson and Jessica Evans; Greatgrandchildren Tilda Brei'anna Barnum, Abigail and Isabell Lynch and Jessica, Emily and Michele Johnson; Brothers Fred and Sue Womac of Ten Mile, Tn, Ernest and Cindy Womac of Montrose, Mich., Gordon Womac of Monticello, Ga.; Sister Aileen and Jim Perry of Monticello, Ga.; sister-in-laws Mary Ruth Womac of Niota, Tn., Evelee Womac of Niota, Tn., Chelene Womac of Lenoir City, Tn., Wanda Shelton Breedlove of Cleveland, Tn., Barbara Shelton and Ken Ledford of Dayton, Ga.; Brother-in-laws Carroll Shelton of Cleveland, Tn., Gerald R. Morelock of Maryville, Tn., Aunt Stevie Walker of Kingston, Tn. Nieces Barbara and Terry Cavaner, Judy and Ronald Hurd, Edith Ritchie, Mary Jane and Kenneth Moore, Sheila and Jack Leverette, Ida Chouniard, Robert Middlebrooks, Sandra and Chris Evans, Sherry and Tony Underwood, Cathy and Ray Yearwood, Martha L. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 13, 2011 in the Bowers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lawrence Waller officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Memorial Gardens, Decatur, TN. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2011 at the funeral home.
