Thomas Ellis Sitzlar

Thomas E. Sitzlar, age 68, of Ten Mile, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at his home, with his family by his side.

He was a native of Roane County. He was a Sgt. In the United States Army, Vietnam Veteran and lifetime member of the 11th ACVVC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Walter Sitzlar and Mary Kate Jackson Sitzlar, and a sister, Rita Sitzlar.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Linda Letner Sitzlar. One daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and David Shanahan, all of Ten Mile. One brother and sister-in-law, Harvey Eugene and Mary Sitzlar, of Kingston. Mother-in-law, Reba Letner, sisters-in-law, Norma England, Brenda Crumley and husband Johnny, brother-in-law, Kenny Letner, all of Ten Mile. Several nieces and nephews. Special friends, Clarence and Betty Proctor, Carolyn Jones, Earl Thacker, Eddie White, Clyde and Margie Giles also survive.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Curtis Porter officiating. Alan Crumley, Brandon Letner, David England, Jimmy Gable, Chris Sitzlar, and Travis Sitzlar will serve as Pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 31 2017, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., at Bowers Funeral Home.
