Tamara Joy Blevens Franklin, age 62, of Decatur, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, March 16, 2024.
She was born on January 9, 1962, to the late Jerome “Ed” and Joyce Blevens. She was a Meigs County High School graduate. She spent most of her life in Decatur where she raised her family. Tammy was an avid reader who spent a great deal of time crocheting and sewing as well. She loved many genres of music. If anyone had a challenging trivia question, Tammy almost always had the answer. Her ability to light up the room with her beautiful smile and dimples was unmatched.
She is preceded in death by the love of her life: Bill Franklin; daughter: Caitlyn Hackney; niece: Allie Blevens; “big brother”: Mike Ricker; special “guardian angel”: Beulah Ingle.
She is survived by her son: PJ Hackney; sisters: Cheryl Ricker, Jere Judd, Amy (Steve) Graham; brother: Brad (Grace) Blevens; nieces and nephews: Dana (Roger) Moore, Kaci Ricker, Meggan (Jason) Goode, Julian (Allie) Judd, Bryson Graham, Hanna Graham, Brady Blevens, Malachi Hayden; grandniece: Kinslee Judd; many extended family and cherished friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Walnut Grove Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m., prior to the service.
