Sara Cupp

Sara Bell Cupp, age 82, of Decatur, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2025.

Sara was the cherished daughter of the late Bill and Martha Hutsell. A dedicated homemaker, she devoted her life to her family, providing love and support. She took great joy in cooking, shopping, and engaging with her family through gatherings and cookouts, especially enjoying precious moments with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A faithful member of Concord Missionary Baptist Church, Sara found great fulfillment in her spiritual life and the community it provided.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Arley Cupp; brother, Ronnie Hutsell.

She is survived by her children, Arlina Young of Decatur, Theresa (Cliff) Moree of Cohutta, Ga; grandchildren, Daniel (Amber) Moree of Cohutta, GA, Hallie (Christian "Drew") Godsey, James (Stephanie) Finley; great-grandchildren, Axton Powell, James Finley "Boogie" IV, Kayden Arley Finley, Shaianne (Kenneth) Stanley, Elijah Reece; siblings, Sam (Juanita) Hutsell, Brenda (Charles) Head, Sammy (Ricky) Nelson of Maryville, TN; sister-in-law: Mollie (Larry) Edwards of Chatsworth, GA; several nieces, nephews, other extended family, and a host of friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026, in the chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Rev. Randy Scott and Bro. Neal Pillion officiating. Interment will follow in the Meigs County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Cody Trenom, James Finley, Daniel Moree, Tim Edwards, Drew Godsey, and Charles Head.

The family will receive friends from 12 - 2 p.m., prior to the service.
