Samuel Neal Pillion Sr.

Samuel Neal Pillion Sr., age 76, of Decatur, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at his home. Born Sept. 6, 1940. Active member of Pisgah Baptist Church where he served as sound man and "Mr. Fix It". No matter who called or what was broken he could "fix it" from High School football score boards, right before game time to as simple as changing the batteries in a grand babies musical toy. Knowing all along the headaches it would cause, but for that grandchild's happiness and because mama said so, the batteries were changed. His fun loving cut-up ways along with many other absolutely wonderful characteristics will forever be missed until we are reunited together forever.

He was preceded in death by his parents; John Morgan and Dorothy Pillion, brother; Harold Pillion, grandson; Shane Letner.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years; Evelyn Pillion, children and spouses; Neal Jr. & Debbie Pillion, Lee & Sheila Pillion, Angie King, Barbara Bunch & Billy Vestal, Betty & Mike Wilkey, 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 3 on the way, and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive.

Pallbearers will be grandsons: Jerry King, Mitch King, Tim King, James Pillion, Stephen Stansberry, Tommy Bunch Jr., Haden Browder, Dustin Prichard;, Christopher Pillion. Honorary Pallbearers will be Great Grandsons.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 1, 2017 in the Chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with Rev. Neal Pillion Jr. and Rev. Herman Jordan officiating.
Interment will follow at Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday, June 30, 2017 from 5 to 8 at Bowers Funeral Home.
