Samuel Eugene Davis

Samuel Earl Eugene (Gene) Davis, age 72, of Decatur, TN, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at his residence. He was a member of the Walnut Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Oma (Rinehart) Davis; brothers, Wayne, Bob, Ross Davis; sister Margie and one great grandchild, Tyler Massey. He is survived by his wife of 19 years Bonnie (May) Davis of Decatur, TN; five sons and four daughter-in-laws, Jeffery Eugene and Teri Davis, Danny and Julie Davis, Dustin and Maki Davis, Nathan and Marilyn Davis, Cory Davis, all of Decatur, TN; two step sons, Steven and David Schrank, both of Decatur, TN; one daughter Audrey Davis and special friend Ross Wilson of Decatur, TN; two step daughters Yolanda Massey of Chattanooga, TN, Pattie Roberts of Athens, TN; three brothers and two sister-in-laws, Clyde and Berta Lou Davis, Glen and Faye Davis, Stanley Davis, all of Decatur, TN; four sisters and two brother-in-laws, Barbara and Ronnie Powell of Cleveland, TN, Frances and Paul Monroe, Sandra Johnson, of Decatur, TN, Shirley Melton of Chattanooga, TN; 16 Grandchildren; 8 Step grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 11 step great grandchildren; and a host of good friends. Funeral service will be held at 8 p.m., Sunday, December 12, 2010 in the Bowers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Rymer officiating. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m., Monday, December 13, 2010 in the Walnut Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 - 8 p.m., Sunday, December 12, 2010 at the funeral home. Pallbearers: Jeffery Davis, Danny Davis, Dustin Davis, Nathan Davis, Steven Schrank and Cory Stokes. Honorary Pallbearers: Grandsons, Robby Newman and Cody Davis.
