Russell F. Roberts

Russell F. Roberts, age 94, of Decatur, Tennessee passed away on Monday, April 27, 2020 at Athens Place, Athens, Tennessee.

He was born on Christmas day to the late Leonard and Kate Roberts. He was preceded in death by his wife, of 72 years Hazel Elder Roberts, brothers, Paul Ed Roberts and Owen Roberts and a sister-in-law, Velma of Chattanooga, brother-in-law, Pat Burdette of Chattanooga, and a son-in-law, John Tallant of Cumming, GA

He retired from Volunteer Energy in Decatur after 40 years of service. He was also a World War II Veteran where he served in Japan, and he was a member of the Meigs Lodge #213 F & A M in Decatur for nearly 67 years. He was a member of Allen Memorial Church in Athens and attended Decatur United Methodist Church.

He leaves behind a daughter, Dianne Tallant of Knoxville, grandson, Chad (Sheila) Tallant of Pikeville, TN, granddaughter, Jonna Tallant of Knoxville and sister, Barbara (D. L.) Millaway of Decatur, sisters-in-law, Arlene Burdette of Chattanooga and Frances Roberts of Decatur, 3 nephews and 4 nieces.

Graveside services, Friday, May 1, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Decatur Cemetery with the Rev. Will Conner officiating.



There will be no formal visitation.

The family requests that any memorials be sent to Decatur United Methodist Church, 466 Miller Road, Decatur, TN, 37322
