Roy Dills

Roy Dills, 69, of Decatur passed away at Athens Regional Medical Center on Thursday, April 25, 2013. Roy was of the Baptist Faith. He Loved his children and grandchildren and was well known in Meigs County where he served as 4th District County Commissioner. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Louise (Waters) Dills; sisters Dorothy Ballew and Wanda Stafford. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Margaret "Ann" (Daniels) Dills of Decatur, son Jason Roy Dills of Decatur; two daughters, Angela Erwin of Cleveland, Sheri Lowery of Decatur; one brother and sister-in-law, Willie and Connie Dills of Cleveland; three sisters and brother-in-laws, JoAnn and Bobby Haynes of Chatsworth, GA, Margie and Ralph Hicks, Jonnie and Gene Ballew, all of Cleveland; grandchildren include Jacob Baily Yates, Courtney Lowery, Heather Lowery, Addison Taylor Dills; great grandson R.J. Roberts; brother-in-law Bill Daniels, of Decatur; sisters-in-law, Wanda (Rick) Godsey, of Charleston and Brenda (Charles) Lowery, of Chatsworth, Ga. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 28 from 11 am to 2 pm at Bowers Funeral Home in Decatur, TN. Funeral services will be on Sunday at 2 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Jack James officiating. Interment will be at Roberts Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the funeral home to help assist with funeral expenses.
