Rosalind Eugenia Harper Hall, age 75, of Etowah, passed away Monday, October 18, 2021 at Starr Regional Medical Center in Etowah. Rosalind “Mom” retired after 20 years of nursing, where her calling was in hospice care. She had the honor and privilege of helping care for those in their final moments of life, as well as being there to comfort the families during their most difficult time. She did so with grace, dignity, and compassion. While working as a Nurse, and living in Monroe Co., TN, she was also asked to help with the local animal shelter that was overcrowded and understaffed. She quickly took on the challenge of caring for the abandoned animals and helping raise money to keep the shelter open and the animals cared for. This new-found passion led her to years of rescuing, nursing back to health, and rehoming hundreds of animals, to include cats, dogs, guinea pigs, chickens, emus, pot-bellied pigs, goats, squirrels, and horses. Many of those animals found their forever homes with Mom and her husband, Gene, where they lived out the rest of their lives. She found comfort and blessings in caring for her family, her patients, and her animals. Helping and giving to others was Mom’s gift to the world. Despite our protestations, God called her home at 9:30 p.m. on October 18, 2021. He said, “It is finished my good and faithful servant. You have suffered long enough.” And Mom took her last breath, and her heart beat its last beat at that moment. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed. Every memory will be treasured by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, keeping her legacy alive. She was God’s gift to us. Rosalind is preceded in death by her parents: Robert and Agnes Harper; brother: Robert Henry Harper, Jr; grandson: Philip Mooney, IV; great-grandson: Neyland Foster.
