Robert L. Newman

Robert Lillard Newman, 78, of Decatur, TN went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at his residence. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was a member of the IBEW Union for 50 years. He retired from T.V.A. after 26 years. =He was a U. S. Army Veteran serving in World War II. He was preceded in death by her parents, Freeman and Bessie (Mullins) Newman; his wife of 30 years Jackie L. (Stokes) Newman; four sisters, Florence Newman, Emma Cecil, Genelle Adams and Julie Swafford. He is survived by two daughters and son-in-laws, Roberta and Paul Ferguson of Decatur, Pam and Tommy Webb of Decatur; four grandchildren and their spouses, Jason and April Webb, Keith and Heather Webb, Chris and Teresa Bryant, Amanda and Chris Withrow; 6 Great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be Saturday at 8 PM, August 2, 2014 in the Chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with the Rev. Jamey Davis officiating.. The family will receive friends Saturday at 6 - 8 - PM, Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the funeral home. Graveside service will be at 2 pm, Sunday, August 3, 2014 in the Mountain View Memorial Gardens, with Military Honors. Pallbearers: Chris Bryant, Keith Webb, Brom Stokes, Mile McGrew, Juston Ricker, and Tylan Davis. Honorary pallbearer: Jason Webb
