Robert Earl Van Hoose

Robert Earl Van Hoose, 61, of Decatur passed away Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016, at his residence.

He was of the Baptist Faith. He was a member of AMVETS and the American Legion. He was a Veteran serving in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Thomas and Betty Joyce (Hunter) Van Hoose; 2 sisters, Katherine Ann Van Hoose and Linda Joyce Fagg; 1 brother, Randall Van Hoose.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Billie (Ricker) Van Hoose of Decatur; 2 sons, Shane and Sabrina Van Hoose of Decatur, Shawn and Heather Van Hoose of Madisonville; 1 step son, Timothy Lankford of Decatur; 1 daughter Cheryl Crow of Benton; 1 step daughter April Owings of Pikeville; 3 brothers, Claude Van Hoose of Decatur, James Van Hoose of Rockwood, Ken and Virginia Van Hoose of Crimora, VA; 3 sisters, Carol and Chuck McKenzie of Rockwood, Jo Jo and Tracy McDowell of Athens, Jane Van Hoose Powell of Dayton; 15 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 pm, Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016 at the funeral home.

Funeral service will be held at 8 pm, Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016 in the Bowers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jamey Davis officiating.

Interment will be at 2 pm, Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016 in the Decatur Cemetery.
