Ritchard Thomason, Sr.

Ritchard F. Thomason, Sr., 74 of Decatur, went to be with The Lord, Thursday, September 8, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born December 15, 1941 in Little Rock, Arkansas.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church of Athens. He worked at Cutter Lab for 21 years and A. E. Staley for 15 years. He ran the Waste Treatment Facility in Decatur until he retired. He enjoyed woodworking and refinishing furniture. Spending time with family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He loved biscuit and gravy.

He is proceeded in death by his parents Marshall and Leavi McBay Thomason and one son Paul Bryan Thomason.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 54 years Betty Isom Thomason of Decatur. His Children Diane Adams and husband David of Ten Mile, Ritchard F. Thomason, Jr. of Decatur, and Paula Rose and Husband Ronnie of Decatur. One Brother Jimmy Thomason of Oklahoma. Four Grandchildren, Craig Powell, Matthew Powell, Amanda Powell, Nathan Cordell. And Eight Great-Grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Kay, Amanda, Rosie and many more from Amedysis Hospice and also express a heart felt thank you to Brenda King of Amedysis Hospice.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church of Athens, TN, at 10 A.M. with Rev. Randy Stice officiating.
Burial will follow at Goodfield Cemetery in Decatur.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 9, 2016, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Bowers Funeral Home.
