Rev. Herbert Stokes

Rev. Herbert Stokes, age 88, of Harrison, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, January 18, 2023. He served the Lord faithfully since 1957, his prayer was to be a blessing to someone today. He was a true hero of the faith and a member of the Greenwood Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents: Floyd and Sallie Stokes; brothers: Lawrence, Floyd T., and Douglas Stokes; sisters: Velma Marr, Elizabeth Minton, Dale Ray, JoAnn Denham. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years: Wanda Faye Stokes; children: Angela Stokes, Gwen Stokes, Joey (Faith) Stokes; grandchildren: Brody (Kaitlyn) Stokes, Danielle Stokes, Steele Stokes; great-grandchildren: Skyla Stokes, Saige Stokes; sisters: Nancy (David) Malone, Tina Ellis; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Pisgah Cemetery with Pastor Chad Chandler officiating. Family will receive friends from 4-8 on Friday, January 20, 2023 in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
