Reagan Neil Wheeler, age 79, of Etowah, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023.
Neil was born to the late Allan and Ruth Wheeler. He was a United States Army Veteran and retired from CSX Railroad. He was a 9th Dan black belt in isshinryu karate. Neil was a long-time member of the Cambria Baptist Church, Etowah Lodge # 653 F & A.M. for over 29 years, was currently serving at district 17 as Grand Lecturer, and the Alhambra Shrine.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife: Jane Wheeler; brother: Benjamin Franklin Wheeler; sister: June Wheeler Harrison.
He is survived by his children: Wendy (Jacob) Wheeler-Stough, April Wheeler Blankenship, Phillip West; sister: Carolyn Wheeler Vineryard; grandchildren: Jackson Wheeler Dixon, Bennett Reagan James Blankenship, Katelyn McKenzie West (Cody) Millsaps, Annabelle West, Camden Neil Allan Blankenship, great-grandchild: Willow Jane Millsaps; special friends: Chester Brannon, Johnny Russell; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
A masonic service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2023 in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Interment will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Dunn officiating.
Family will receive friends from 12 – 2 p.m., prior to the service.
