Raymond "Ray" Lester Minnis, Jr., age 78, of Decatur, TN, died Saturday, March 13, 2010, at his residence. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Lester Minnis, Sr. & Lula Pearl (Farris) Minnis; 3 brothers, Ralph Minnis, Kenneth Minnis and Bob Minnis. He is survived by his wife Johnnie (Anderson) Minnis of Decatur, TN; two daughters and one son-in-law, Shelia Minnis of Decatur, Kimberly and Chris Kelly of Decatur, TN; three Grandchildren, Gretchen Ruiz, Tonya Brown and Andrew Kelly; one Great grandson, Nathan Brown; several nephews, and special nephew Ralph (Dude) Minnis. Funeral service will held at 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 16, 2010 in the Bowers Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Bill Pearman officiating. Interment will be at 12 noon, Wednesday, March 17, 2010 in the Walnut Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be: Chris Kelly, Richard Mason, Ryan Brown, Ralph (Dude) Minnis, Larry Lockmiller, Jr, Alberto Ruiz.
