Ray Jack Cofer, age 68, of Decatur, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022 at Decatur Wellness and Rehab. Center. He was a son of the late Roscoe Lee Jackson and Anna Lura Ritchey Cofer. He was an avid farmer. He is preceded in death by his sisters: Julia Ann “Bug” Lunsford, Inella Thompson; infant brother. He is survived by his children: Jamie Cofer, Becky (Christopher) Davis; siblings: Hubert “Hubie” (Wilma) Cofer, Lela Ann “Dee Dee” Pike, Loretta (Darvin) Dixon; grandchildren: James Blake, Brooke Marie, and Bridgett Leigh Cofer, Hayden Ray and Kindall Leah Davis; mother of his children: Shirley Cofer; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Rev. Wayne Murphy and the Rev. Davis Evans officiating. Interment will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 11 a.m. in the Cofer Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5-7, prior to the service on Thursday.
