Polly Muriel Madeline Kennedy

Polly Kennedy, 85, of Decatur passed away Friday, September 28, 2018 at the Life Care Center of Hixson. She was born and raised in Meigs County and relocated to Chattanooga as an adult where she was an Executive Secretary for the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce. After retirement she returned to Meigs County. Polly loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a Baptist by faith and had attended Bethsadia Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill Elder and Byrd Hamilton; her husband, Martin Kennedy; her daughter, Pennye Cooper; and a step-brother, Jack Hundley.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Chrissy Kennedy of Hixson; 4 grandchildren, Mandie Kennedy Mathis, Justin Brown, Clay Cooper, and Chris Bell; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Flowers are greatly appreciated; however, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bethsadia Cemetery fund, P.O. Box 1143, Decatur, TN 37322 in her memory.

Funeral services will be at 12PM on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 in the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with Dale Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in Bethsadia Cemetery in Decatur. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
