Phyllis Dean Slaven Moore, age 62, of Decatur, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024.
She enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing, and spending time with her grandkids. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She loved singing gospel music.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Willie and Rachel Gregory Slaven; siblings: Lee Allan Slaven, Sue Cox, Shirley Slaven.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years: Jackie Moore; daughter: Christie (Matthew) Bandy; son: Justin Watson; grandchildren: Hunter Pelfery, Tucker Pelfery, Oakley Bandy, Lakelyn Bandy, Jesslin Spaugh, Mayzee Scealf; siblings: Bud “Pete” Slaven, Kay Vanover; several nieces, nephews, other extended family, and a host of friends.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m., on Thursday, December 12, 2024, in the chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Rev. Joe Andrew officiating.
Interment will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 13, 2024, in the Meigs County Memorial Gardens. Matthew Bandy, Josh Scealf, Robbie Murphy, Landen Fairbanks, Jeremiah Lee, James Crisp, and William Lee will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., prior to the service.
