Phillip "Phil" C. Farmer, 66, of Decatur went to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Starr Regional Medical Center. He was a member of Decatur First Baptist Church; Masonic Lodge 213; member of Gideon; AMVETS, American Legion; Deacon at Decatur First Baptist Church; Member of Boilermakers Local 454. He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin Coolidge and Willie Mae (Crisp) Farmer; grandson Cole Puryear. He is survived by his wife Phyllis (Brown) Farmer, of Decatur; son Grant and Cayci Farmer of Riceville; daughter Monica and Jon Steele of Soddy Daisy; brother Steven Farmer of Riceville; Grandchildren, Cade Puryear, Abby Steele and Bray Farmer; several nieces and nephews, and a host of good church friends. Funeral service will be held at 11 am, Sat. Sep. 19, 2015 at Decatur First Baptist Church with Pastor Jamey Davis and Rev. Cullen Conner officiating. Interment will be at Short Creek Cemetery with full Military Honors. Rev. Jimmy McCarty will conduct graveside service. The family will receive friends at Decatur First Baptist Church from 5 until 8 pm, Friday, Sep. 18, 2015. Pallbearers: Tim Jennings, Jackie Melton, Larry Reed, Duke Goins, Richard Brogan, Jeff Combs, Jerry Combs, Carey Thompson. Honorary pallbearers; Max Redman, Taft Frances, Jim Wells and retired Local 454 Boilermakers. In lieu of flowers make donations to Athens West Gideon Camp
