Peggy Florence Gaines

Peggy Florence Gaines, 90, of Decatur passed away October 3, 2018 at her residence. She was born in Maysville, KY and had been a resident of Decatur for the past 32 years coming from Waddy, KY. She is the daughter of the late Everett and Wiletta Florence and was a faithful member of the Christian Church Disciples of Christ.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gaines; a brother, Joe Florence; and three sisters, Wanda Dryden, Norma Firman and Evelyn Cox.

Survivors include her son, Robert Larry Gaines of Waddy, KY; three daughters, Carolyn Owens of Decatur. Donna Bruner of Shelbyville, KY and Joyce Dennis of Lexington, KY; a sister, Ann Gorman of Louisville, KY; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 2PM to 2:30PM at Bowers Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:30PM with Kenny Waldrop officiating. Burial will follow in Bethsadia Cemetery in Decatur.
