Patricia "Patsy" Gayle Cross

Patricia Gayle Cross "Patsy", 73, of Decatur passed Sunday, January 13, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Athens, TN to Nathaniel and Idella Moon. For the past 23 years she was retired and enjoyed working in her garden, tending to flowers, and summer time fishing. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. She was a member of The Cottonport Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her father, Nathaniel Moon; a son, Eric Scott; and a brother, Jerry Moon.

Patsy leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 52 years, James F. Cross of Decatur; her mother, Idella M. Moon of Decatur; her daughter, Jamie D. Herrick (Steve) of Decatur; her son, Wesley James Cross (Laura) of New Haven, CT; her brothers, Dale Moon of Henderson, KY and Tommy Moon of Cincinnati, OH; her sister, Melodie Boswell of Maceo, KY; and three grandchildren, Olivia Herrick of Decatur, Isaiah Cross, and Elijah Cross, both of New Haven, CT.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be at 6pm on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Bowers Funeral Home with Rev. Glen Gattenby and Rev. Kern Eschette officiating. The family will gather in the visitation room following the service to fellowship with friends and share a moving memorial tribute.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
