Osmond Kent Vaughn

Osmond "Ozzie" Kent Vaughn, 73, of Decatur went to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Athens Regional Medical Center. Ozzie was of Baptist faith and was a member of Meigs Lodge #213 free and accepted Masons. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Nellie O'Daniel Vaughn; first wife Sophia Goins Vaughn, second wife Nina Woodward Vaughn; brothers Estell, Ermal and Wetzel Vaughn; sisters Kathleen and Cecil Vaughn, and Eloise Maye. He is survived by his sons Keith and Gail Vaughn, of Athens, Stacey Vaughn, of McMinn County, Tracy Vaughn, of Dayton; 2 grandchildren, Patrick and Ashley Vaughn, of Athens; brothers Evert and Mary Lou Vaughn, of Louiseville, Ky, Buford and Ophelia Vaughn and Myrl and June Vaughn all of Athens; sister-in-law Susan Vaughn, of Ormond Beach; special friend Denna Bea Raper of Athens; stepsons Michael Woodward of Decatur and Randy Woodward of Ringgold, Ga.; stepdaughters Tammy Jones and Paulette Woodward, of Decatur, Anna Woodward, of East ridge and Vickie Bayless, of Harrison; numerous step grandchildren and great-grandchildren The family will receive friends Friday, July 26 from 5-8 pm at Bowers Funeral Home with a Masonic funeral service at 8 pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 am with Rev. Gene Guffy and Rev. Van Elkins officiating. Interment will be in Buttram Cemetery Saturday.
