O'Neil Green

ONeil Green, 83, of Ten Mile, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013 O'Neil was a member of Mt. Verd Baptist Church and he will be missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his mother Mary Jane Green; daughter, Donna Green; two brothers, Richard "Cup" and Austin Burris; two sisters, Mildred Dill and Mary Cleo McDonald; and grandson, James Anthony Trentham. He is survived by his wife, Myrtle Wilson Green of Ten Mile; 3 sons, Jason (Loretta) of Decatur, Jeff Green of Ten Mile and Scottie (Nancy) Green of Decatur; 8 daughters, Judy Gordon of Decatur and special friend Danny Wattenbarger, Bernice (Don) McCann of Cleveland, Ruth (Matt) Hicks of Lenoir City, Frances (Dalmas) Munger of Birchwood, Sheila Sloop and Tom Underwood of Niota, Debbie (Gilbert) Castro of Decatur, Tresia Green of Decatur and Ronna (Randy) Couch of Decatur; 2 special kids Adam and Eric Armour; 1 brother, Ulis (Iva Mae) Burris; 3 sisters, JoAnn Cronan, Edna Mae (Robert "Buster") Brown and Dorothy Gray, all of Benton; 30 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Pallbearers will be Shane Sloop, Keith McKensize, Hunter McCann, Tony Sloop, Cody Couch; Honorary pallbearers are Mike Wilson, Steve Beaty, Adam and Eric Armour. The funeral service will be Monday at 8 pm at Bowers Funeral Home with Pastor Donny Dalton and brother Ben Linkous officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-8 Monday. Interment will be in Mountain View Memorial Gardens Tuesday at 1 pm.
