Ola Janette Ratledge

Ola Janette "Sissy" Mitchell Seargeant Ratledge, born Nov. 25,1935 , a former resident of Ten Mile, now of Athens, died on Friday, August 5, 2011. She was a member of the Mt.Verd Baptist Church and enjoyed ceramics and dancing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Effie Mitchell; husband, Roy "Cotton" Seargeant; son Tony Seargeant; brothers, Leroy Mitchell, Bud Mitchell, Clyde Mitchell; sister Maxine Thurman; brother-in-law, Ed Brannon. She is survived by daughter , Annette Seargeant of Athens; brothers and sister-in-laws, Jr. and Gladys Mitchell of Athens, Paul and Dora Mitchell of Soddy Daisy, Madaline Mitchell, Virginia Mitchell; sisters and brother-in-laws, Polly and Gene Powell of Cincinnati, Ohio, Margaret Brannon of East Ridge, Tommy Thurman; daughter-in-law, Donna Seargeant of Sweetwater; granddaughter, Tonia seargeant of Decatur; great grandchildren, Reannon McKenzie Seargeant, Malaci Lane Kinslow; a special friend and sister-in-law, Kathy Mitchell; God child, Ryan Bushman; special people, Darlene McElhaney, Todd Hansen, Michael Shafer, Makala, Candice, and Marandah Shafer, Nicole Castelow; ex husband, Ralph Ratledge. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2011 in the Bowers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Andy Mitchell officiating with interment to follow at Sewee Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m., Monday, August 8, 2011 at the funeral home.
