Nora Azilee Hill

Loving mom and ma'maw Nora "Azilee" Hill, 86, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday Dec. 28, 2011. She lived most of her life in South Eastern Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her father Evert Varnell; mother Bensy Varnell; son Dennis Powell; brothers, Lawrence, Harold and Herbert Varnell; sisters, Ruby Johnson, Grace Goforth, Kate Gray, Edna Jennings. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Roger Kennedy, of Cleveland, Ohio, Elizabeth and Russ Boles of Sterling, Va.; sons, Johnny Powell of Athens, TN, Ricky Powell of Decatur, TN, Jerry and David Powell and Michael Hill of Cleveland, TN.; 22 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 2, 2012 at the Bowers Funeral Home located at 163 Arrants Ave., Decatur, TN. Funeral services will be held in the Bowers Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 3 with Rev. Max Redman officiating. Interment will follow the funeral Tuesday at the Decatur Cemetery. She had many friends over her lifetime and will be greatly missed, but will remain in our hearts forever. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Hill memorial fund c/o Bowers Funeral Home.
