Mildred Nadine Stiner

Mildred Nadine Stiner, 89, of Ten Mile, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 13, 2015 surrounded by her family at Starr Regional Medical Center. Mildred was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church. She loved her family and was a mother to many who knew her. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Otis "T.O." and Addie Nelson Thompson. She was also preceded in death by her husband Elroyd "Joe" Stiner; brothers, Bruce, Fred, Billy and Clifford Thompson, sister, Gladys Cupp; and grandchild, Jamie Stiner. She is survived by five sons and their spouses, Elroyd "Buddy" Stiner Jr. and Wanda, of Whitesburg, Jimmy Stiner and Poppy, of Meigs Co., Jerry Stiner and Tomma, of Ten Mile, Johnny Stiner and Janie, of Decatur, and Jack Stiner and Rita, of Niota; Three daughters and their spouses, Joann and Earl Malone, of Niota, Janice and Jim Brown, of Niota, and Janie and John Myers, of Decatur; sixteen grandchildren: and twenty three great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Sunday evening at 8 pm in the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with the Rev. Clayton Dunsmore officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 pm Sunday. Interment will be in Mount Pisgah Cemetery Monday at 11 am. The grandchildren will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers. The family would like to say a special thank you to her caretakers.
