Michael Douglas Watson, 65, of Decatur, passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at his residence. He is a son of the late Carl and Vera Mae Watson. He was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church in Dayton, TN. He was a former member of American Legion Post #79 of Decatur, and National Rifle Association. He retired from Army Corp. of Engineers as a Locke & Dam Operator with 35 years of service. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother: David Watson; sisters: Barbara Watson, Joyce Blevens, Carlene Wilson, Beverly Miller. He is survived by his wife of nearly 47 years: Brenda Watson of Decatur; son: Casey Watson of Decatur, daughter: Lacey Watson of Decatur; grandchildren: Cayden, Colt and Darcey Watson; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family. A Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Rev. Gary King officiating. Interment will follow in Decatur Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 12 noon-1 p.m. prior to the service. Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services is honored to serve the Watson Family.
