Michael David Malone

Mike Malone, 51, of Athens, passed away Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016 at Spring City Care and Rehab.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Robert Malone Sr.; and sister, Karen Boyd.

He is survived by his mother and step father, Beverly and Burch Swafford, of Athens; daughter, Shelby Dawn Malone, of Columbus, IN; brothers, Rev. Bruce (Sandy) Malone, of Decatur, William "Billy" Malone, Jr., of Sullivan, IN., Roger Swafford, of Athens, John Daniel Swafford, of Cleveland; sisters, Roberta (Bobby) Shay, of Lawrenceburg, TN, Lori (Tim) Burcham, of Lawrenceburg, Billie Masters, of Miami, Fl., Kathy Leamon, of Athens; one grandson; several nieces and nephews; special aunt, Geraldine Lindsay, of Lake Wales, Fl.; a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016 at The Bowers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bruce Malone, Rev. Earl Graves, and Rev. Jimmy Lewis officiating.

Family will receive friends Wednesday from 4:00 p.m.-until 7 p.m. at Bowers Funeral Home.

Interment will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Decatur Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Malone, Billy Malone, Ethan Templeton, Terry Brown, Jerry White, Mike Walters; honorary pallbearers are Charles Stanley and Darrell Leamon.
