Melvina "Mae" Coleman, 63, of Decatur went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Erlanger Hospital.
She was a member of the Union Grove Baptist Church. She loved race cars, loved working with jewelry, working puzzles, and her Little Dog Buttons.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Daffine Lankford; brothers, Bruce Jones and David Nelson; daughter, Andrea Miller; special nephew, Mark Howard; husband, Tommy Shaver.
Survivors include her husband of eighteenyears, Donald Coleman of Decatur; Brian Shaver of Decatur; step-sons Christopher Coleman of Etowah, Craig Coleman of Athens; step-daughters, Manda Fiecher of Vonore, Candice Riotge of Etowah; sisters Rose (Lonnie) Thurman, Emma (Pete) Howard, Joan (Eddie) Rodrick all of Decatur; 18 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a host of good friends.
Visitation 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., on Monday, October 7, 2019, at Bowers Funeral Home, 163 Arrants Road, Decatur (37322). Funeralservice will immediately follow the visitation and will beginat 2:00 p.m.with Rev. Hugh Bryan and Rev. Michael Coleman officiating.
Interment will follow atMountain View Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
