Mattie Gean Womac Brady

Mattie Gean Womac Brady, age 84, of Athens, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

She was a daughter of the late Walter Fred and Stella Mae Womac.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Jesse “J.W.” Brady; daughter: Rebecca Long; sisters: Edna Lester, Fanny Sue Newberry, Irene Pelfrey.

She is survived by her children: Sharon (Joe) Wallis, Jeff (Tracy) Brady; grandchildren: Jennifer Wallis, Jessie (Michael) Berra, Christina (Kassy) Bradford, Meghan (Chad) Simpson, Joey (Keona) Morrow, Misty (Michael) Mays, Tristian Marlow, Cameron (Kayla) Hurn, Laney Lewis, Lyndon McHone, Bubby; great grandkids: Scarlett, Willow, Ruby, Joseph, Greyson, Finley, Oliver, Neyland, Boston, Denver, Charlotte, Theo, Milo, Adrea, Asher; brothers: Eddie Womac, Walter Fred Womac Jr; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2025, in the chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Rev. Lawrence Waller officiating.

Interment will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, in the McMinn Memory Gardens with Chad Simpson, Cameron Hurn, Tristian Marlow, Neyland Morrow, Boston Morrow, Christina Bradford, Joey Morrow serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., prior to the service.
