Mary Lee Woody

Mary Lee Woody, 87 of Ten Mile TN, went home to be with the Lord on September 1, 2017 at NHC of Athens.

She was a retired educator with 38 years service in the Meigs County School System. She was a member of the Meigs County Retired Teachers Association. She loved her Ten Mile school family and had many fond memories of her years of service at Ten Mile Elementary School. She attended Lakeside Baptist Church at Ten Mile, where she served as church secretary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Arlan "Hawk" Russell and Garnet Fuller Russell, Husband of 61 years; Herman Woody, Sisters; Margaret "Sissy" Bivens, and Faye Hall.

Survivors include her son: Gerald F. Woody of Ten Mile, TN, Nieces; Shawn McCampbell, Claudia Bivens, Nephews; Eddie Bivens, Ricky Bivens, Byron Hall, Sisters-In-Law; Helen Woody, Bernice Woody, Brothers-In-Law; Roy Woody, A.B. Hall, and other extended family and a host of friends also survive.

Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 5, 2017 in the Chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with Speaker Ray Melton officiating.

Interment will be in the Mount Zion Cemetery in Ten Mile on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 11 a.m. Mark Irwin, Sam Inman, Bill Inman, Eddie Bivens, Ricky Bivens, and Ray Ratledge will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, from 5 until 7, at Bowers Funeral Home prior to the services.
