Mary Ruth Thompson

Mary Ruth Rockholt Thompson, age 90, of Decatur, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Grace Health Care of Decatur.

She was one of the the sweetest, most caring people a person could ever meet. She lived her life to take care of her family, especially her husband of 69 years, Herman , who passed away on July 4, 2017. She was a daughter of the late Spiller and Betty Wright Rockholt. She was an active member of Bethsadia Baptist Church.

In addition to her late husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her Siblings; Charles "Bud" Rockholt, Amanda "Mandy" Brown, Gladys Kile, and Bessie Petitt.

Survivors include; a sister-in-law, Velma Campbell and her husband Charles, Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Nephews and Great-Great Nieces and Nephews and Great, Great, Great Nieces.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 4, 2017 in the Chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Sorrah and the Rev. Don Rockholt officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethsadia Baptist Cemetery. Wayne Brown, J.C. Crabtree, Chris McKenzie, Tim Jennings, Don Rockholt, and David Roberts will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 12 until 2, at Bowers Funeral Home prior to the services.
