Mary Katherine Kyker Hale

Mary Katherine Kyker Hale, age 90, a lifelong resident of Decatur, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023. She was a member of the Ladies Alhambra Shrine, Jokers, and Hillbilly Unit, along with a 50-year member of Spring City #209 Order of the Eastern Star. She is preceded in death by her husband: James D. Hale, infant son: Donald James Hale, siblings: J.B. Kyker, Aileen Denton. She is survived by her children: Ronald Hale, Jane Gesse (Gregg), Tanya Rogers (Dannie), Mike Hale, brother: Larry Kyker (Brenda), sisters: Shirley Jackson, Carolyn Poteat (Glenn), 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, several nieces, nephews, and other extended family. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Rev. Jordan Metzger officiating. Interment will follow in the Meigs County Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 2023 in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial donations be made to Decatur First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 35, Decatur, TN 37322.
