Mary Lucy Jiles Carter

Mary Lucy Carter, age 92, of Ten Mile, went to her Heavenly Home on Thursday Morning, October 13, 2022. She was a lifelong resident of Meigs County and a daughter of the late Bill and Alice Jiles. Lucy was a dedicated member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was a great testimony for her Lord. She was a hardworking housewife and loved her husband, children, and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, William Franklin Carter; brothers: Oscar, Albert, and Claude Jiles; sister: Anna Mae Reed. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Patsy Carter, of Ten Mile; daughters, Marcella "Sally" Carter and Cheryl Ann Miller, of Ten Mile; grandchildren, Chris Carter, Grant Carter, Lacey Rynes Rowland and husband Darren, Kyla Miller, Chanel Miller Finnell and husband Justin “Jug”; great grandchildren, Faith Bidwell Benton and husband Joey, Carter and Chase Rowland, Ryder Finnell, Waylon White; great great grandchildren, Bryson Godsey, Mason and Paisley Benton and a host of good friends. A Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022 at 6 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Ten Mile, with the Bro. Curtis Porter officiating. Interment will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 11 a.m. in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive from 4-6 p.m. prior to the service.
