Mary Caroline Lillard Henderson, 89, of Decatur, went home to be with the Lord Saturday May 30, 2015. She was the daughter of the late David Wiley Lillard and Margaret Murphy Lillard. She was a resident of Meigs county for over 50 years and taught school for over 27 years. Mary was a member of Decatur United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and long time member of the church choir. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and Eastern Star. She is also preceded in death by her husband Norman Henderson; daughter, Billie Jean Moore; brother, David W. Lillard jr.; sister, Elizabeth Harris. She is survived by her sons, David Ford and his wife Cyndi, Frank Ford, Robert Ford, and step son Mike Henderson, all of Decatur; daughter, Mary Jane Clark and husband Rick, of Magnolia, TX, step daughter Betilu Erwin,of Decatur; grandchildren, Amy Ott, Michelle Ford, Preston Ford and Delaney Ford; five great grandchildren; nieces Nancy Massingill, of Kingston and Margaret Morgan, of Wartburg; several great nieces and one great nephew; special friend, Polly Anderson and friend and caretaker Dorothy Greene, of Decatur. Funeral services will be held at Decatur United Methodist Church at 2 pm Tuesday with the Rev. Hugh Bryan officiating. She will lie in state from 1-2pm prior to the funeral. Interment will be in Decatur City Cemetery following the funeral Tuesday.
