Martin Edward "Ed" Hiefnar, age 79, of Niota, TN, died Sunday, October 17, 2010 at his residence. He was a member of the Bethsadia Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Minnie (Lowery) Hiefnar; wife Reba Dell (Kyker) Hiefnar; brother-in-law John McKamy; step granddaughter Theresa Leona Cunningham. He is survived by his wife Geraldine (Newman) Hiefnar of Niota, TN; two step sons and daughter-in-laws, Alfred Ray and Brenda Cunningham of Athens, TN, Walter Eugene and Jane Cunningham of Madisonville, TN; two daughters and one son-in-law, Kathy and Terry Forgey of Decatur, TN, Carolyn Higdon of Cleveland, TN; one step daughter, Francis Lou Lockmiller of Decatur, TN; 5 Grandchildren; 3 Great grandchildren. Funeral service will be 8:00 p.m., on Wednesday October 20, 2010 in the Bowers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Max Redman and Rev. Larry Sorrah officiating. Music by Rev. Joe K. Miller, Jim and Jane Bowers. . Graveside will be in the Bethsadia Cemetery at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 21, 2010. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the funeral home.
