Luther Luke Miller

Luther "Luke" Miller, 95 of Soddy-Daisy passed away on Tuesday July 12, 2011 in Sweetwater, TN. He was a native of Meigs County. He served 4 years in the U.S. Navy Battalion (N.C.B.-Seabees) during WWII in the Pacific Theatre. He was employed 40 years by the Tennessee Valley Authority, 36 as a construction engineer and 4 in the Maps and Surveys Division. He attended the Decatur United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lou Ann Watkins Miller; three sisters: Bonnie Arnwine, Aileen McCraw, Leota Davis; and one brother, Ross Miller. Survivors include one son, Lee Dan Miller, Lexington, KY; one daughter, Polly Ann McCurry, El Dorado, CA ; one granddaughter, Jennifer Renee McCurry, Chandler, AZ. Graveside services will be conducted at the Decatur Cemetery at 11 am July 14, 2011, Thursday with Rev. Michael Ogle officiating. The family will receive friends at 10am Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Decatur United Methodist Church, 145 Vernon Street, Decatur, TN 37322 in lieu of flowers.
