Louise Jewel Bowerman, age 92, of Decatur, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct.14, 2012. Louise was born on Oct. 15, 1919 and was a lifelong resident of Decatur. She professed her faith at an early age and was a faithful member of Burketts Chapel United Methodist Church, where she was Mother of the Church. She served as pianist for many years at Burketts Chapel and Hickory Flat Missionary until her health started failing. She kept praising, giving and receiving blessings to all those who knew her. She was preceded in death by husband James U. Bowerman; parents, Samuel L. and Nona Robinson; five brothers, Elijah Robinson, Thaddeus Robinson, Calvin Robinson, R J Robinson, Gene Robinson; five sisters, Maggie Robinson, Carolyn Kelso, Mattie Dobson, Frankie smith, Janie Fleming; one grandchild Christopher Shropshire. Survivors include four children James H (Forestine) Bowerman, Jewel (Claude) Goldston, Janet (Willis) Goldston, Leroy (Alinda) Bowerman, all of Decatur, TN. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends and relatives. The family will receive friends from 12-1 pm on Wednesday. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1pm at Bowers Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow the service at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
