Linda Ann Brown (Nee Cofer), age 79, of Cleveland, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.
Linda was born on August 13, 1945 in Norfolk, VA to Blanche and Holland “Dave” Cofer. From an early age, Linda was headstrong and vibrant. Linda had a zest for life that meant she always knew what she wanted and fiercely loved those close to her. Linda was proud of her work as a parole officer for the State of Tennessee, but, perhaps her favorite accomplishment was being “Mom” and “Nana” to her two children and five grandchildren. Despite reeling from the effects of Parkinson’s disease for over thirty years, Linda strove to attend every major life event and celebration until the disease cruelly took away her ability to do so. Despite this, Linda was only a phone call away and her love knew no bounds.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, several aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as countless friends.
Linda is survived by her husband of sixty years: Don Brown of Cleveland, TN; her two children: Tracy (Scott) Kanavos of Cleveland, TN and Donny Brown of Cave Spring, GA; her grandchildren: Shane Ware, Ellen and Erin Kanavos, Holland and Tylar Brown; her sisters: June (Roy) Aikman of Cleveland, TN and Patsy (Steve) Lewis of Benton, TN; as well as several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the Parkinson’s Foundation or the Michael J. Fox Foundation of Parkinson’s Research.
Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services is honored to serve the Brown Family.
